The emphasis of this observational course is on developing strong representational skills. The students will learn the fundamentals of human anatomy, proportions, composition, rendering figure in motion, linear tonal rendering, color properties, direct and indirect painting methods, painting stages, art framing and archival methods.
Students will draw and paint from casts, sculptures and live models using a variety of art approaches and materials.
It is an ideal class for serious and dedicated students working on mastering their representational skills and those seeking to develop a strong consistent art portfolio and exhibition record.

Art materials are provided by students and include graphite, charcoal, sanguine, pastels, watercolor, gouache, oil paints and canvases. Please see the complete material list below. The studio will provide specialty paints, non canvas substrates, sculpting materials, painting and drawing equipment.

The classes are 3 hour each, meeting once per month with a possibility of up to 2 free make-up classes per semester. The non -refundable school registration is $100. The monthly tuition is $385, the model fee is included. The tuition is paid per a 5- month semester in two installments. First payment of $2,025 is due on September 1, 2024 and second payment of $1,925 is due on February 1, 2025. The payments can be done through a check, Zelle or Venmo, using VizArt School # 850 980 7294.
